FAQ

What is the lead time on TRA pedals?

As of January 1st, 2024, I have stopped taking general orders for all versions of the Prickly Pear Preamp and custom shop builds to catch up on previous orders. Lead times may vary on these orders, as they are all still hand built one at a time! Some variants may be become available as I will have some extra parts from completing orders.

Prickly Pear V2 coming soon!

What is the lead time on TRA mods?

I am able to knock out the mods way quicker than building new pedals. Turnaround time is typically 3-5 business days.

Do you do repairs, rehouses, and custom mods?

Yes, yes, and yes! Please send me an email with a brief description of what's going on with your broken pedal, or an idea for a rehouse/mod. The bench fee for repairs is $35/hr plus shipping. Rehouses and mods will vary in price.

Do you ship internationally?

As of March 2024, I can no longer ship internationally due to rising shipping prices. Some people have found workarounds by shipping to a domestic shipping service or family member and having them ship it internationally.

Can I cancel my order?

Of course! Within the first 24 hours you can cancel your order with a 10% cancellation fee. 15% if a custom enclosure is involved. After 24 hours, I am not able to cancel or refund any orders. I order parts for every order and cannot send them back to the manufacturer once they are ordered.

My TRA pedal is broken. What do I do?

I offer free repairs on any TRA pedals and TRA modified pedals for original owners. I want to make sure your gear is working and fixed in a timely manner. Please shoot me an email to proceed with sending your pedal in. For non original owners, repair costs are $35 shipped back to you.

What power supply do I use?

All TRA pedals have to be run using isolated power supplies such as the Strymon Zuma, Voodoo Lab Power Plus 2, Truetone CS-12, etc. Wall warts will fry the circuits!

Can I run my Prickly Pear at 18v?

If you have a V1 with 3 knobs, you can only use 9v. That version has a 15v charge pump inside and will be damaged at 18v. If you have a 2 knob V1.5, Deluxe Mini, or Deluxe, those versions can run 9-18v. Please confirm with over email about custom shop dual drives before powering at 18v.
