Prickly Pear Preamp Deluxe Mini

NOTE: All TRA pedals have to be run using isolated power supplies such as the Strymon Zuma, Voodoo Lab Power Plus 2, Truetone CS-12, etc. Wall warts will fry the circuits!

This is the Prickly Pear Preamp Deluxe Mini. It is the same as our Prickly Pear Preamp Deluxe, just in a smaller vertical enclosure! The default color for these will be a black enclosure, two black knobs, and one red knob. For an additional $25, you can choose your own color scheme like the one pictured!

The Prickly Pear Preamp V1.5 circuit is the pedalfied version of the preamp section from the famous Korg SDD-3000 rack unit delay. The unit has consistently been used by the Edge, Daniel Lanois, and countless others. People refer to it as the “magic preamp,” as even though the unit was specifically a delay unit, the preamp could push your amp harder and add nice crystal clean highs and clarity without sounding too bright or harsh.

When the left footswitch is engaged, the pedal acts as a normal Prickly Pear Preamp with Master, Gain, and a hi/low switch (3 way switch on the Deluxe and Deluxe Mini versions). When the right footswitch and LED are engaged, the second gain knob is active, so you can essentially have two presets of gain!

The gain knobs are affected by the hi/lo toggle. For the most gain and fuzz type tone, put the toggle in the up position. A little lower gain and headroom, put the toggle in the middle. Less gain and cleaner cleans, put the toggle in the lowest position The master knob controls the overall volume of the pedal.

Each unit has hand selected components, is hand drilled, hand assembled, and tested by myself.
